writing editorYou have almost completed your essay so that you can submit it tomorrow. Nevertheless, remember that you are a human and there may be some mistakes in your writing piece. Therefore, you need to go back, spend some time and proofread your essay to make sure that it is perfect. Here are some steps that you have to follow in order to be concern that the essay is great.

1. Read the Question Again

This is the first step of proofreading your work. Read you question and ensure that it has been answered adequately. Make sure that the information that you have provided is relevant and if there is something that you have not included, enclose it. If there is some irrelevant information, get rid of it.

2. Word Repetition

Read your paper through to realize the words that have been used frequently. Every writer has his/her own favorite words. However, you should take care to avoid frequent repetition of words in your writing. This can make the reader become bored while reading the work. Think of appropriate words or synonyms to replace those ones.

3. Sentence structure

The structure of the sentence should follow the guideline of the Subject-Verb –Object (SVO).

4. Paragraphs

Make your paragraphs quite short. There should be 3-5 sentences in an abstract that cover your main points.

5. Read Your Writing Aloud to Yourself

You should rely mainly on using your ears as a way of identifying mistakes in your paper, rather than on your eyes. This will help you actualize the words that you have read and realize the errors. The human brain has the ability to recognize various items that may not be correct.

6. Revise Your Writing Style

You have to make sure that the writing style is in accordance with the one that you have chosen. It can be MLA, APA, Chicago or Harvard. Different writing styles have different requirements to follow.

7. Get Some Feedback

Give your paper to other people so that they read it and identify other mistakes if there are any. They might be your friends, classmates or your professors. It is a fact that you cannot be able to identify all the errors committed in the piece of writing.

8. Have a Break

Maintain a good break between the time that you write and edit your paper. Do not begin editing immediately after you just have finished writing it. Walk around and come back to edit your work a bit later. This will help you to refresh your mind and you will be able to identify the mistakes.

9. Check the Relevance of the Vocabulary

Get rid of words that are not really necessary in your writing. While rereading the paper, pay attention to the words that can be excluded without affecting the main idea.
Proofreading and editing are very important step that most of the writers forget to complete. This results that the paper is not up to the required standards. Following this guidelines your work will be acceptable to the professor and it will earn you a good grade.
